EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF SPRINGBACK OF LOCALLY HEATED ADVANCED-HIGH STRENGTH STEELS

Sheet metal bending is one of the important metals forming processes at ambient temperature. The usage high-strength steel stronger materials for construction components in automotive industries. However, complex shapes, cold not always sufficient, and heating workpiece plays a major role manufacturing these shapes. Bendability may increase with increasing temperature currently, hot advanced high strength steels (AHSS) becoming more attractive. While AHSS beneficial formability, subsequent quenching required to maintain final strength. This procedure extends production time. In this study, gradients, loads, springback after V-bending were investigated. experimental study was carried out on 2 mm thick Docol 1500M various temperatures by using speed-controlled servo press machine. regions specimens locally heated 200, 300, 400, 500, 600oC high-frequency induction device. results show that; punch loads significantly lowered local during bending.
